A home is your most valuable asset and should be taken care and updated from time to time. Many owners will update their car, clothes and electronic equipment, but not update their home. I have been in many homes and found many of them outdated. When I or a buyer walk in the door and can tell the home was built in the 70’s by the floor covering or the color in the bathroom, the home needs to be updated. It’s your home and you like it just how it was built or the style was in when you purchased it. Now it is time to sell.

First, contact your Realtor and have a comparative market analysis completed on your home. Ask for recommendation on improvements to be made to your home to enhance the sale.

Second, contact your home remodeler for input on the cost of make the necessary repairs.

Third, set up a meeting with the realtor and remodeler, to discuss the repairs to make sure you get the most value out of the repairs to be made.

Finally, get the repairs completed or adjust the price of your home to make it appealing to the home buyer.
